Although a lot of God of War Pulled from Norse mythology, the video game franchise is not legally the son of God of War – but Atreus may have a different mythological connection.
Towards the end of the first title, players learn that Atreus’ mother, Faye, originally named him Loki – as in God of Mischief. It was Kratos who later gave Atreus the name he referred to throughout the match, although there is no doubt that this little bit of knowledge would become important in the Ragnarok.
