“Halloween Ends” Peacock scores from Nielsen Streaming Top 10 for the first time

Peacock debuted in the top 10 of Nielsen ratings during the October 10-16 show window with “Halloween Ends.” The Jimmy Lee Curtis-led thriller, which is the thirteenth film in the popular “Halloween” franchise, ranked eighth on the overall list (TV and Film) with 717 million minutes played in its first three days on the streaming service. . The film was released simultaneously in both cinemas and streaming service on October 14. The title ranks first in Nielsen’s list of films.

Ryan Murphy’s success continues to expand as “The Watcher” and “Monster” remain in the top three. The mystery series based on an article in New York Magazine took first place on the list of total titles with 2.36 billion minutes shown in the first three days of its availability on Netflix. If “The Watcher” follows the same trend as the previously released Murphy series, the drama will presumably remain in Nielsen’s top ten ratings for weeks to come.

Jeffrey Dahmer’s biopic starring Evan Peters came in third and scored another week with over a billion watched minutes. In its fourth week on the overall chart, the series had 1.1 billion minutes watched – still an impressive number, despite a slight decrease from the previous week’s 2.3 billion minutes recorded.

Amazon Prime’s “Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power” climbed to number two during its record week with 1.1 billion minutes watching after episode 8 was released. That number brings the series another win over “House of the HBO.” Dragon, which landed at number four on the chart with 960 million minutes watched on HBO Max after episode 9 premiered.

These are not perfect comparisons because the two shows air on different schedules and in different formats. Nielsen has the ability to measure US viewing of “The Rings of Power” by third-party broadcast ratings because the show lives exclusively on Amazon Prime Video, while an estimated one-third of “House of the Dragon” viewers remain uncharted on the chart. Thanks to HBO’s cable channels. On the other hand, “House of the Dragon” episodes have been available for all Nielsen broadcast windows since the show aired on Sundays and receive an additional batch of new episodes that air at the end of each window. Episodes of “The Rings of Power” are released on Friday, which means they’re only available for the second half of the window.

“The Blacklist” joins the streaming chart at number five with 906 million minutes watched after the ninth season of the drama was added to Netflix last month, nearly a full year after the season aired on NBC.

Elsewhere on the chart were “The Midnight Club” (867 million), “Cocomelon” (723 million), “Luckiest Girl Alive” (696 million) and “NCIS” (663 million).
