Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy XCover 6 Pro are updated to Android 13 with One UI 5

With all the benefits of Android 13 and the new security patches.


Samsung has been on top of its game when it comes to software updates lately, and this recently took the form of bringing the stable One UI 5.0 update to the Galaxy family. On the heels of the 2022 Galaxy A series getting a taste of Android 13, the Korean manufacturer is now rolling out One UI 5 for the Galaxy Tab S8 series. The powerful Galaxy XCover 6 Pro also picked up the Android 13 update in select regions.

One UI 5 for the Galaxy Tab S8 range is currently being rolled out for the global 5G variants of the Vanilla, Plus, and Ultra models. The update is marked with the build number Xx06BXXU2BVK4and it carries the November 2022 Android security patches. So far, only the Android 13-based version has been rolled out across Europe, but it’s only a matter of time before we see the new software make its way to other markets.

Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro

Apart from the Galaxy Tab S8 series, Samsung is also updating the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro to Android 13. The “XCover” tag is for the rugged lineup, and this MIL-STD 810H and IP68 rated device is definitely no exception to the trend.

The One UI 5 firmware for the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro is currently being rolled out in Europe. Build number is G736BXXU1BVK2and it carries a slightly outdated October 2022 security patch set.

As is usually the case with staged software rollouts, it may take several days before the update is rolled out to everyone. However, you don’t need to worry, as you can skip the queue and install the new version now by flashing it manually on your Galaxy device.
