‘Tokyo Vice’ Season 2 on HBO Max Casts Takayuki Suzuki (Exclusive)

Takayuki Sazuki joined the second season of HBO Max’s “Tokyo Vice” in a recurring role, diverse I learned exclusively.

The drama series premiered in April 2022 and was renewed for a second season in June. It is based on Jake Adelstein’s memoir of the same name. Ansel Elgort plays Adelstein, an American living in Japan who becomes a reporter covering the Tokyo Metropolitan Police.

Sazuki will star in the series as Masahito Ohno. Described as “a brilliant and charming architect, Ohno is a client of the hostess club at the heart of season two. Slowly drawn into the underworld that lies behind the club, he finds himself faced with a terrible choice.”

This will be the second American television role in Kazuki’s career. He previously appeared in an episode of the Apple sci-fi series “Invasion.” He is best known for his roles in Japanese shows like “Gommenne Seishun” and “Please Love The Useless Me”, as well as the “High & Low” franchise. He’s also been in movies like Netflix’s “The Outsider” and “Safeguard.”

It is represented by Buchwald and Asian Cinema Entertainment.

Besides Elgort, the first season of “Tokyo Vice” also starred Ken Watanabe, Rinko Kikuchi, Rachel Keeler, Ella Rumpf, Hideaki Ito, Shu Kasamatsu, and Tomohisa Yamashita.

JT Rogers created the series and also serves as an executive producer. Michael Mann directed the pilot and is an executive producer, along with Alan Ball, Adelstein, Elgort, Emily Gerson-Saens, Brad Kane, Destin Daniel Creighton, Watanabe, Kayo Washio, and John Lesher.
