Along with stable One UI 5 updates for a range of its devices, Samsung is rolling out a new update for its latest Wear OS smartwatches. According to reports in redditYesterday, the Galaxy Watch 5 update started rolling out in several regions. If you haven’t received it yet, you can check it on your phone by heading to Watch settings in the Galaxy Wearable app and tapping File Watch Software Update The option is at the bottom of the list.
The latest software update for the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro (firmware version R920XXU1AVK7) brings a new orb watch face, the November 2022 Android security patches, and some stability and reliability improvements. The update is just over 500MB in size and contains the following changelog.

- Newly designed Ball Watch face added.
- Stability and reliability
- Stability icons have been implemented to improve notifications and device behavior.
We don’t have access to images of the new watch face at this time, but user feedback on the Samsung Community Forums reveals that it has a customizable globe that you can customize to show your country’s flag. This indicates that the watch face is likely related to the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar. We will update this post with relevant images once the update becomes available on the Galaxy Watch 5.
