The Jabra Elite 7 Active are, as the name suggests, earbuds designed for active people. Featuring a lightweight design and silicone ear tips that use Jabra’s “ShakeGrip” technology, these are earbuds that will stay in your ear while you’re jumping, running, climbing, or dancing.
Jabra’s earbuds offer two primary listening modes: Active Noise Cancellation, and HearThrough technology, the latter known as Transparency mode. Both modes work well, and the Elite 7 Active lets you switch between them with a press of a button on the left bud. This is a quicker and easier way to switch between modes than with any earbuds, which is welcome given they’re meant for intense workouts. There is, of course, an IP57 rating for water and dust resistance. You can take it swimming without worry.
Battery life is among the best in its class, with the Elite 7 Active being able to last for about 8 hours on a single charge, while the case adds another 29 hours on top. Sound quality is excellent thanks to Jabra’s balanced tuning of the 6mm drivers, but you can fine-tune the sound yourself with Jabra’s companion app, available for iOS and Android.
There are four microphones on each earphone that do a good job of handling phone calls, as other parties can hear you loud and clear.
These are usually Jabra’s highest-end earbuds that aim to compete with the AirPods, and they’re priced accordingly. But with Black Friday deals, the price is now down to just $99.99, making these buds an excellent value.
