While fans may be saddened that the journeys of Max, Reynolds, Bloom, and all the rest are almost over, actor Jocko Sims has revealed that there’s still a lot to look forward to before the end credits roll.
The final two episodes of 2022 aired back-to-back into one big finale, which offered twists ranging from Reynolds making a “brutal” decision (which Jocko Sims explainedBloom comes to a painful realization about her sister to Max, knowing that Helen had returned to New York just when he was about to Overcoming all obstacles to start a relationship with Wilder.
Fall’s end wasn’t exactly close to a happy ending for all of the characters, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the same will be true of the series’ new year finale. Jocko Sims spoke with CinemaBlend about what’s on the way, and previewed what fans can look forward to in the final episodes:
I’m excited that fans will learn a little more about the Doctors, their past, who they are, and what makes them who they are. I’m excited about that. We have a great ending that sets up a nice, beautiful arc in this amazing journey we’ve been on. And this slogan “How can I help?” I think it will be clear in the final episode, that this motto will carry on for generations to come. I’m really proud of what the writers did on this show from start to finish. It’s by far the best job she’s had, being able to play Dr. Reynolds.
Well, it sure looks like it New Amsterdam Will not join the ranks Shows disappointing results, if the medical drama gets a “nice, sweet arc” before the finale! And what better way to end this parade than to embrace the theme of “How can I help?” Which was so important from the start? Jocko Sims’ mention of “Next Generations” is particularly interesting in light of little Luna getting some of the spotlight this season.
Only time will tell how much the last three episodes have revealed about the characters and what makes them who they are, but the actor’s comments suggest there’s a lot to be optimistic about. Whether or not this means completely happy endings for everyone — which might be hard to imagine now that Fall is over — is a question that won’t be answered until 2023.
After revealing that playing Dr. Reynolds was the best job of his career, Jocko Sims went on to share his excitement about the final episode:
I’m excited to read it. I haven’t read the last episode yet. [laughs] I’d love to wait for the schedule read, but I kind of know what’s going on and I’m excited about it.
