Ranveer Singh’s ‘Cirkus’: Watch the first trailer for the 60s comedy

Producers Rohit Shetty Productions, T-Series Films and Reliance Entertainment have released the first trailer for the highly anticipated comedy ‘Circus’.

Featuring Ranveer Singh and Varun Sharma in dual roles, the film also stars Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Johnny Lever, Siddhartha Jadhav, Sanjay Mishra, Tiko Talsania, Vrajesh Hirji and Ashwini Kalsekar. The movie also has visuals by Deepika Padukone and Ajay Devgn. Directed by Rohit Shetty.

Set in the 1960s, ‘Cirkus’ is loosely based on William Shakespeare’s play ‘The Comedy of Errors’, which has been adapted several times for Indian screens, notably in 1963 by Manu Sen as a Bengali cinematic language ‘Bhranti Bilas’. In 1968 for Debo Sen in the role of the Hindi language film “Do Dooni Chaar” and in 1982 for Gulzar in the role of the Hindi language film “Angoor”.

Shetty’s Sooryavanshi starring Akshay Kumar, Singh and Devgn was Bollywood’s first major post-COVID film when it was released in late 2021. But 2022 has not been a year to remember for the Indian industry with a few hits, including ‘Gangupi Kathiawadi,'” Brahmastra: Part 1 – Shiva”, “Kashmir Files”, “Bhol Bhulaya 2”, while films from South India, including “RRR”, “KGF: Chapter 2”, “Kantara”, “Vikram” and “Ponniyin Selvan” : 1 “A box office ruling.

Industry pundits are hopeful that Circus, slated for release on December 23, 2022 and Shahrukh Khan’s Pathan, slated for January 25, 2023, during India’s Republic Day holiday framework, will continue to pick up steam.

Meanwhile, Shetty announced “Singham Again”, the next installment of the cop universe which “Sooryavanshi” is also from.
