TVF International renews First Look deal with Singapore’s Mediacorp

Reality distributor TVF International has renewed its first deal with Singapore-based media giant MediaCorp, extending the distribution partnership for another two years, revealed ahead of the TV Asia Forum in Singapore.

TVF already has a four-year partnership with Mediacorp and currently distributes around 350 hours of Mediacorp’s reality shows to broadcasters and broadcasters worldwide. Mediacorp produces a range of factual programmes, mostly for the international Channel NewsAsia (CNA) network, ranging from current events and history series to high-end wildlife, true crime and lifestyle series.

Highlights include the international current affairs series When Giants Collide: A New World Order (3 x 48 minutes), which explores the deteriorating relations between global powers including the United States, China and Taiwan, and “Secret Asia,” now in its ninth season, which investigates On topics range from anti-Asian hate in the UK to the rise of female terrorists.

The history series Ancient Civilizations of Asia: Kingdoms of the East (4 x 48 minutes), presented by Singaporean historian Peter Lee and employing animated reconstructions, illustrates the rise and fall of Korea and the most important empires of ancient Japan and their influence on these popular cultures today. Looted (2 x 48 minutes) follows a new generation of Asian activists who are putting pressure on Western museums and private art collections to return priceless stolen artifacts to their countries of origin.

“Keeping the Music Alive: Challenging the Taliban” (2 x 48) tells the story of Zahra, Afghanistan’s only all-female orchestra. We Don’t Play Dolly (2 x 48′) follows the journey of the South Karnataka State Blind women’s cricket team to the India National Finals. It was recently nominated for a Cannes Diversify award at Mipcom.

“The Mass Extinction” (2 x 48) explores endangered wildlife species around the world and environmentalists’ attempt to save them from extinction, while “Catching a Serial Killer: Death & Injustice in Korea” tells the story of South Korea’s first ever serial killer. Launch Fatal Cold Case – The Hwaseong Murders. Remarkable Living (10 x 30) returns for its fifth season to spotlight the world’s best artisan talent in the fields of architecture, design and boutique lifestyle.
