It All Breathes Nabs Four Awards from IDA

All That Breathes won first prize for best film at the International Documentary Assn. Awards on December 10, it also took home awards for director Chunak Sen, editing and a special Barry Lorentz award.

“We Need to Talk About Cosby” won the award for Multi-Part Documentary Feature, while “Fire of Love” took home awards for cinematography and writing.

The 38th annual event, held at the Paramount Theater in Los Angeles, was hosted by comedian Jenny Yang. Awards have been announced in 18 categories. The show has also been streamed live on IDA’s YouTube channel and recording is now available.

There were 16 competitive categories and two special categories, the ABC News VideoSource Award and the Pare Lorentz Award.

This year’s shortlists and nominees have been selected by independent panels of 310 documentary filmmakers, curators, critics and industry experts from 52 countries. IDA received 806 applications across all categories, 40% of which were internationally produced or joint ventures from 86 countries.
