‘Avatar 2’ cast: What the water show really looks like

The 13-year wait is finally over. James Cameron’s “Avatar: The Way of Water” is now hitting theaters, and with it comes a question moviegoers will probably ask themselves once the show is over: What do the actors actually look like?

In the original Avatar movie, actors like Sam Worthington, Stephen Lang, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, and Joel David Moore appeared on screen with their bodies for extended periods of time on screen. That’s not the case with “Avatar: The Way of Water,” which, for most of its three-hour runtime, doesn’t include any on-screen human actors.

This is not to say that “Avatar: The Way of Water” is devoid of humans. Joel David Moore and Dilip Rao returned in brief roles as scientists on Pandora who allied themselves with the Na’vi. Newcomers to the franchise, Brendan Cowell and Jemaine Clement play two central characters on an offshore trawler on Pandora. Also new are Eddie Falco, who plays Pandora’s new villainous army chief, and Jack Champion as Spider, a teenager born on Pandora with deep ties to Jake Sully’s family in the Na’vi.

The rest of the main cast of “Avatar: The Way of Water” appear as Na’vi courtesy of motion capture. See all the faces behind the Na’vi characters in the cast breakdown below.
