While there haven’t been many official announcements about the specials lately, it looks like we now have more potential evidence that upcoming Doctor Ncuti Gatwa will have a role to play. While it originally looked like David Tennant will be the lead Taken together, a new post from Gatwa might suggest he’ll be along for the ride, too.

Take a look at the slab photo in the post, and go on to see how this relates to the upcoming anniversary celebration:
There is a picture of sex education The alum is like The Doctor on the board but, as some might notice, he’s not wearing the same outfit he’s shown in the photos from his site. Those actually look like the same clothes we’ve seen his character wear the only From Screenshots we’ve seen him so far. Those who revisit that will notice that there’s another person wearing those clothes earlier in the trailer, and that’s David Tennant’s incarnation of the Doctor.
So what does this mean? There seems to be a strong possibility that Dr. David Tennant will actually turn out to be an iteration of Ncuti Gatwa. While this may seem obvious to some doctor who Fans, there has been some speculation about the creation of a multiverse within the show and in operation, which could justify the presence of multiple Doctors simultaneously. One can’t help but feel Tennant’s iteration of the hero will indeed be reborn into the Gatwa version, but when will that happen?
Given past regeneration trends, it’s likely the Tennant Doctor will switch to Gatwa before the end of the 60th Anniversary special. Whether it happened in the final moments of the show or somewhere halfway through, we can’t say, but it’s gradually looking like a possibility.
On the flip side, we’ve also seen Doctors take a while to get new clothes after a makeover, so this might be the look he’ll rock a bit in Season 14 so he gets those new strands teased on Instagram. Of course, it would be a little disappointing if we didn’t see the Barbie Until the age of 60 is over, but, like the previous scenario, it can happen.
