Naruto Creator reproduces the cover from 1999

Naruto is now in the midst of celebrating the 20th anniversary of the original anime version’s release, and to help celebrate the big occasion, the original creator behind it all has gone back to the beginning to recreate one of their most famous covers! Naruto has come a long way since first appearing in the pages of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, and it’s a much different franchise now than ever before. This is why looking back has been so great for the fans who have been sticking with the series this whole time.

Perhaps the biggest changes have come within the manga series itself. Naruto Series creator Masashi Kishimoto, like other manga creators, started out with a much different kind of art style for the series that evolved as he continued to release new chapters. This meant that the series ended up with a very different kind of look that fans saw with the series when it first began, and there’s no better example of that than Kishimoto recreating the first cover of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump.
