The Samsung Galaxy A01 and Galaxy A02s have finally updated to Android 12 in the US

Samsung has released an unexpected update in the US, rolling out the Android 12 update to the Galaxy A01 and Galaxy A02s.

Samsung has done a great job updating its vast catalog of smartphones to Android 13. While it has brought the new OS update to its latest flagship lineup, it has also been able to bring updates to some of its older and lower end smartphones. Units like the Galaxy A13 5G too. While it’s not the latest version of Android, Samsung has now provided another batch of OS updates for two devices in the US, the Galaxy A01 and Galaxy A02s.

The Galaxy A01 and Galaxy A02s have both been updated to Android 12. The reason this is so important is because Android 12 was a major update, which gave Android a new look and refreshed it with many new features. While it didn’t have the best rollout or build, it still has a lot to offer compared to the previous version of Android, which makes it a worthwhile upgrade, especially when it costs nothing.

According to people in SamMobile, the update is rolling out as firmware version A015UVHU7CVK9 to Galaxy A01 owners on Xfinity Mobile’s wireless network in the US. Additionally, another update, firmware version A025U1UEU1CVK6, is rolling out to carrier-locked Galaxy A02s in the US. Both versions are rolling out as Samsung One UI 4.1 Core update and also includes the November 2022 security patch.

Since both of these smartphones are low-end units, these will likely be the last major updates they receive. If you have one of these models in your possession, you can head to the Settings menu, then check the Software Update section to see if an update is available. If so, you will be able to download it over the air and install it seamlessly. If not, you will have to be patient and wait for the update to arrive.

Fortunately, there are alternative ways to get the update, like installing it manually, which might be a good way to start. Just be sure to backup all of your important information first before you go this route.
