Steam Replay gives you the highlights of 2022 PC games

If you want Spotify Wrapped but for PC gaming, this is it.

It seems like every data-collecting company wants to show you how awesome the data they collect about you is, which is why we get features like Spotify Wrapped or YouTube Recap. Wanting to get a piece of the action, Valve revealed its “Steam Replay” feature for the first time this year. It shows you metrics like the games you play the most, how many individual sessions you’ve fired into the game, and even the split between PC games and the Steam Deck.

It has some great sharing options to make sure your friends can see your replay if you want to, or you can try to hide it from them if you’d rather do that instead. In true social media fashion too, you can also create images to share on various sites like Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok, and even Pinterest.

Features like this are very interesting and allow you to share some of your personality with your friends. While not everyone is interested in or wants their data tracked for these purposes, others enjoy getting insight into their own interests and how they stack up with their peers. I also found it interesting to see my gaming time break down monthly and to see how active I was in the gaming hobby at the beginning of the year and during the summer versus the past three months or so.

To access Steam Replay, there are two ways to do so. You can scroll to the top of the Steam store page and click “New & Noteworthy,” followed by “Steam Recap 2022,” or you can click the link at the bottom of this article to take you directly there. Both work. Be sure to share some of your stats in the comments!
