A Stan Lee documentary coming to Disney+ in 2023

Marvel Entertainment tweeted a 25-second video on Wednesday confirming the 2023 release of a Disney+ documentary about Stan Lee. The announcement is in line with what would have been the late comics creator’s 100th birthday.

Working alongside fellow writers and artists like Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, Lee is known for creating beloved characters like Spider-Man, The Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, and more. Even after retiring from Marvel in the 1990s, Lee continued to be involved with the company through cameo appearances and executive producer titles in Marvel productions.

Lee’s centennial celebration was launched earlier this month by Genius Brands International, which released a new online store with three exclusive Lee-branded collections. The entertainment company owns the rights to the name, voice, likeness, signature, and license to the intellectual property related to Lee and is signed to co-produce the “Stan Lee” documentary. On Wednesday, other creators took to Twitter to celebrate the occasion.
