Windows 11 is over a year old, but it’s still fresh in our minds and many of us haven’t upgraded yet. After all, it’s an optional update, and with some drastic changes to the system requirements, especially when it comes to the CPUs that support Windows 11, a lot of us just can’t upgrade. But that’s just the thing; if you have an older PC, you may be wondering whether it can be upgraded to Windows 11
We’ve rounded up all the PCs we could find that will be upgradeable to Windows 11, and you can see them below. This is a mix of lists provided by each manufacturer and a lot of research on which laptops are supported by each company, but naturally, there are going to be some gaps, because there are many thousands of laptops out there. If you want to make sure your laptop can upgrade to Windows 11, the easiest way to do it is to use the PC Health Check app Microsoft provides to check the compatibility of your specific system. Still, the list below will give you some guidance. We’ve also included some laptops you can buy with Windows 11 already installed if you’re looking to buy a new one. Most laptops you can buy today do include Windows 11, so you don’t actually have to look too hard for one.
Acer
Acer has provided a list of PCs that can be upgraded to Windows 11, and it includes a whole lot of laptops. Of course, if you want to buy a new laptop, you can check out the best Acer laptops available today, most of which come with Windows 11 (naturally, Chromebooks don’t). We also have a few options below to make it easier:

Dell
Dell is one of the biggest PC manufacturers in the world, and the majority of its most popular PCs released prior to Windows 11 did support the update. Today, all the best Dell laptops come with Windows 11, so here are some great options:

Dynabook, formerly known as Toshiba, hasn’t shared a full official list of the laptops that will get the update to Windows 11. However, the company does say it’s bringing the experience to its Tecra, Portégé, and Satellite Pro laptops. If you’re looking to buy a new Dynabook PC, here are a few options that will support Windows 11.

Honor
Honor, formerly a sub-brand of Huawei, has its own line of laptops under the MagicBook branding. While the company hasn’t released an official list of laptops that will support the upgrade, the list of devices the company has made is relatively short. First off, if you’re looking to buy a new laptop with Windows 11 out of the box, here are a couple of options, which are only available in the UK:

The Honor MagicBook 16 is powered by AMD Ryzen 5000 H-series processors and it has a large 16-inch display that’s great for getting work done.

HP also hasn’t announced a full list of devices that will be upgradeable, but all of the laptops the company was selling in 2021 should support the upgrade. And of course, most of the HP laptops available today also ship with Windows 11 installed. Here are just a few options:

Huawei

Microsoft Surface
If you’re in the market for a Surface PC, almost anything you can buy today will be compatible with Windows 11. Here are the best options you can get:

Microsoft has the easiest-to-understand lineup of them all, so even without an official announcement, it’s easy to find out which devices will support Windows 11. Here are the devices that can get the upgrade.
Interestingly, the Surface Studio 2, only makes the list thanks to a recent update to the CPU requirements that added the Intel Core i7-7820HQ as a supported processor. The original Surface Go, despite being relatively recent at the time of Windows 11’s release, is not supported.
MSI

These are all the PCs we know of that support the upgrade to Windows 11. Since the OS has been out for over a year at this point, there are a lot of newer models that already ship with Windows 11, so there are many devices not included here. This list focuses on the laptops released before Windows 11 that support the upgrade.
