The Bank of England is said to secure the initial order for iPhone 15 screens

It may be the biggest supplier of iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus screens this year

Although it has only been a few months since the launch of the iPhone 14 series, leaks and rumors about the upcoming iPhone 15 lineup are already starting to appear on the internet. We recently learned that Apple plans to give the regular iPhone 15 models a “Pro” camera upgrade, and the devices could be powered by the same 48MP primary camera as the iPhone 14 Pro models. Now, trusted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed that Apple has already placed initial orders for the iPhone 15 screen.

Kuo notes that Apple has contracted with Chinese display provider BOE to supply iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus screens in the second half of this year. Although BOE is not a major player in the display supply chain for this year’s Pro models, it will reportedly begin mass shipments of high-quality LTPO panels for next year’s models. This could make it the largest supplier of iPhone displays overall, beating long-term leader Samsung Display.

BOE overtook Samsung and secured most of the new iPhone 15 and 15 Plus display orders in 2H23. If development and production continue smoothly over the next few months, BOE will become the largest supplier of iPhone 15 and 15 Plus screens, with a market share of about 70% (up from 30%). from Samsung).

BOE is expected to begin mass shipments of LTPO displays for high-end iPhones in 2024, with Samsung and LG Display also being suppliers. If BOE can get orders for 20-30% of 2H24’s high-end LTPO iPhone displays while retaining a market share of around 70% for 2H24’s low-end iPhone displays, BOE can potentially become the largest supplier of new iPhone displays in 2H24, Kuo wrote.

BOE was previously in the business of supplying high-end OLED panels for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 series. However, Apple is said to have limited supply of the BOE to a small part of the total volume due to failed product validation tests and contracted with Samsung for the iPhone 14 Pro panels. and iPhone 14 Pro Max, which features a new pill-shaped cutout for the dynamic island.
