If you haven’t been keeping up with My Hero Acaemia Season 6: Recent Episode (Episode 18) which took us inside the strange world of One For All and its former users, for a very special meeting. Most former users of the OFA embrace Izuku as the real “Chosen One”, revealing some very big, game-changing secrets. Izuku learns that the OFA actually kills most of its users, by overloading their superhuman bodies with too much power, thus greatly shortening their lifespan. However, since Deku and All Might did not have powers at birth, they were the two ships able to fully unlock and/or evolve the OFA’s power.

However, the real test is Izuku’s heart. When the original OFA user and Nana Shimura (the seventh user) wonder whether or not Midoriya could have killed Shigaraki if given the chance, Izuku refuses to do so, believing that the boy inside Shigaraki (Tenko Shimura) must be rescued from All For One – not destroyed. It turns out that these are the answers OFA users wanted to hear, calling Deku a true and honest hero. With that, the OFA’s greater powers are given to Izuku.

The power boost comes at an amazing price: Izuku leaves UA behind, telling all of his friends on a farewell note after he has already left.
