Harry Styles cleaned up over the weekend at the 2023 Grammy Awards, winning two bells all night long (Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album), proving himself one of the hottest and most successful musical acts of the moment — but his success comes with a bittersweet note. After Harry’s success, a One Direction reunion is now less likely than ever.

Harry has kept his stranglehold in the music industry since launching his solo career in 2017 with his self-titled debut album.
Since then it has only grown in success. With bands like Watermelon Sugar and Golden, it’s no surprise that he released another album so soon.
In 2022, he released his third studio album, Harry’s House, which also reached number one in 27 countries around the world. It has also been certified multi-platinum in various parts of the world, and has sold over 330,000 units worldwide.
With incredible sales numbers like this – and a budding Hollywood career – making time to get back to a One Direction reunion might not be top of mind for the 29-year-old.

However, there is a glimmer of hope. After Harry won Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album at the Grammys, two of his former bandmates paid tribute to him.
Liam Payne wrote a touching Instagram post for his ex-boyfriend, saying, “Wow… this picture is truly something to wake up to and when you write music like you do Harry, you deserve every millisecond of that moment as you look down smiling at the trophy. You win.” May God bless you, my brother. Congratulations. (sic)
Niall Horan also participated in the celebrations. He posted an Instagram story of Harry accepting his award on stage alongside some love hearts. He captioned the photo: “So proud.”
Harry himself has spoken openly in the past about the old band getting back together.
Back in 2022, he was questioned about whether he thought One Direction could ever meet again. He replied, “It’s really nice to think about it. I’d like there to be a time when we feel like it’s something we all wanted to do.”
Soon after, he added, “Yeah, I think if there was a moment for us to do it the right way, I think that would be great.”
