10 Blueno: Omen of things to come
Blueno is a member of CP9 who comes to take Robin away from the Straw Hat Pirates. It appears as an impassable wall with an impenetrable defense at the start of the show. Although Sanji lost the fight, his techniques managed to make Blueno stumble and served as a precursor to some of the more famous moves he developed later in the series.
Blueno vs. With its role in setting up future battles and creating one of the coolest powers in the entire show, this fight is totally unforgettable.
9 Satori: An open fighting style
Skypiea Island arc is one of the best in the series. It takes place in City in the Sky, which is an interesting concept in itself. But when combined with devices known as Dials (which act as replacements for modern devices in many cases), Skypiea leaves its mark on One Piece’s history.
Therefore, it is not surprising that Satori’s fight against Luffy and Sanji (episode 163) was very interesting, incorporating new concepts such as Impact Dial and Mantra, Skypiea’s version of Observation Haki. Sanji is unable to defeat Satori at first, but with Luffy grabbing the priest, he manages to take him down using Concasse.
8 Virgo: The superior defense
In episode 681 of the anime, Sanji faces one of his most powerful enemies, Vergo. While the fight isn’t long and ends abruptly, the small exchange between the two is neck-to-neck. The barrage of kicks back and forth is an entertaining scene that is not shown often in the anime.
Vergo is a Haki weapon user who can improve his body, as well as external objects, to an incredible degree. With this skill, he can easily block Sanji’s attacks. The epic of the little brawler is undeniable. Sadly, we can’t see a rematch between the two, as Virgo is killed by his boss soon after.

His defeat (Episode 298) at the hands of the Straw Hat Cook leads to the infamous nickname “Black Leg” based on Sanji’s new technique, Diablo Jumpy. Sanji uses the friction from the rotation to create a flaming leg, which he then uses to break through CP9’s member’s iron defenses.
The use of different types of Rokushiki, such as the finger gun and iron body, makes this fight stand out from its predecessors. It offers a way for ordinary humans to stand toe-to-toe with superhumans who have eaten the Devil’s Fruit.
6 Wadatsumi: Show
Wadatsumi’s fight on his own wasn’t anything to write home about. It was an ordinary dickie turned by Sanji and Jinbe into a humble little villain. However, what makes this fight so memorable is the timing. After a two-year skip, this battle, in episode 563, is the first time we see Sanji lose and use one of the skills he learned during his time on Momero Island.
He flies through the air with his Geppo and finishes Wadatsumi with a creative kick. The emotional power of seeing one of your favorite characters back and better than ever is hard to capture in words.
5 Bon Clay: Fellow Kick Fighter
Spinning top, meet the spinning top. Bon Clay’s eclectic personality, memorable costume design, and idiosyncratic dialogues make him one of the best characters in One Piece. Debuting as an executive under the command of Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, his leg-based fighting style makes him a perfect match against Sanji.
The two go toe-to-toe, or leg-to-leg in this case, with each other. Whether you like Sanji’s character or not, the combination of quirky dialogue, fun choreography, and stylish character dynamics will surely draw you into battle.
4 Luffy: stubborn captain
Yes, Luffy is fighting Sanji in Episode 808, and no, it’s not as cool as you might think. Fans have long speculated about how the Straw Hats would stack up against each other. Naturally, a serious fight between the members is unlikely, but fans can only dream of the epic scale of such a fight.
However, the first time a serious hitter like Sanji fought Luffy, things did not go as any of our fans expected. It was difficult to watch the one-sided, emotionally charged, raw, and heart-wrenching blow Sanji delivered when his commander refused to back down, surrender, or fight, but it was also incredibly inspiring. Nami, turning the crew around, pleading with Sanji to stop while all this was going on didn’t make it any easier.
3 Page One: Bias
Page One is an ancient user of the Zoan Devil Fruit and can transform into a full Spinosaurus or a hybrid if he so desires. He serves as one of the main antagonists in the Wano Country arc as Tobi Robo’s strongest and battles Sanji. This battle forces Sanji to shed his prejudice and make use of the raid suit he had vowed never to use before.
This gives Sanji another power that allows him the boost he needs to stand up to bigger players like King later in the arc. It also shows the character’s growth as he overcomes his deep-seated prejudices and does everything he can to save his friends.
2 King and Queen: Tag Team
One of the biggest battles in the series so far, Zoro and Sanji’s showdown against the King and Queen that began in Episode 1046 is a kaleidoscope of stunning animation, flawless choreography, and stunning visuals. This battle is a clash of opponents. Zoro against the king and Sanji against the queen.
The synergy of two Straw Hats against two of the toughest opponents they’ve faced yet makes for a fascinating and interesting fighting series. Sanji’s hatred for the Queen is fueled even further as the All-Stars continue to attribute his abilities to his family rather than his own, making the fight sequences more interesting.
1 Judge Vinsmoke: Cut ties
It is arguably one of the most affecting scenes in Sanji’s character – saving his father and then severing ties with him. It gives his character closure and marks the end of his arc.
Although this is not a fight in the traditional sense, it is an emotional struggle of the highest order. The effect it has on him and the audience makes it Sanji’s best “battle”.
