A Qualcomm executive has inadvertently revealed what type of processor the upcoming Nothing Phone 2 will pack.
Last week, Nothing CEO Carl Pei made a surprise announcement at Mobile World Congress, where he shared that the upcoming Nothing Phone 2 will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 processor. Now, though that was some exciting news, the one thing that Perhaps it has popped into everyone’s mind the reason for such an ambiguous announcement when it comes to the processor. Well, now we may finally have answers, as it looks like a Qualcomm executive may have spilled the beans a bit early, sharing that the phone will pack the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.
Now, if this information is true, it is understandable why Bay chose not to share this information during his press event. The information from the now-deleted LinkedIn came from Qualcomm’s Alex Katouzian, a senior vice president and general manager of the Mobile, Compute and XR (MCX) business unit, who congratulated Pei on the announcement, but provided little information about it. While the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor is still a very capable chip, when it comes to face value, it’s still an older generation processor, which some might find a bit holding back when it comes to a smartphone release in 2023.
