Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 will conclude the spacefaring adventures of James Gunn’s family, starring Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation, Jurassic World) as Star-Lord, Zoë Saldana (Avatar, Star Trek(such as Gamora and Vin Diesel)fast and angry) as a talking tree (and fan favorite) Groot.

The teaser trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 showcase the epic and emotional conclusion to their trilogy.

Star-Lord and his team of misfits find themselves adjusting to a new life on Knowhere. However, when Rocket’s past comes to light, Peter Quill finds himself leading the gang on a dangerous mission to protect the foul-mouthed raccoon, which could cause the gang to disband permanently.

The Ragtag team of elusive space Avengers first united when Star-Lord found himself in possession of the Orb, an object containing the Power Stone. Ronan the Accuser sought the purple Infinity Gem on the orders of Thanos himself. After the evil minion was defeated, the Guardians of the Galaxy delivered the Orb to the Nova Corps on the planet Xander.

The sequel hit cinemas three years later, but it’s actually also set a few months after the first movie in 2014. In this adventure, Peter Quill meets his father Ego, a celestial being who turns out to be the movie’s villain, and kills the star. – The Mother of God is determined to become one with the universe at the expense of all. The Guardians defeat him but Yondu, who turns out to be Peter’s true father figure, saves his life by sacrificing his spacesuit for him.

The Guardians finally team up with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in an epic crossover action in the MCU. The gang responds to an Asgardian distress call, saving Thor after he witnesses Thanos kill Loki and obtain both Space and Power. Rocket and Groot team up with Thor, traveling to Nidavellir to forge the Stormbreaker battle ax and join the fight in Wakanda.

Meanwhile, Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, and Mantis head to Knowhere where Thanos obtains the Reality Stone from The Collector and kidnaps his daughter, Gamora. Tragically, the Mad Titan sacrifices her for Vormir’s Soul Stone.

Meanwhile, the other Guardians team up with Iron Man, Doctor Strange, and Spider-Man on Thanos’ planet to capture and remove the Infinity Gauntlet from him. However, at this moment, Peter learns that the villain killed his beloved Gamora and punches him, breaking the tyrant out of the mantis’ trance that was locking him in place.

After some more fighting, Thanos gets hold of all six Infinity Stones and successfully flicks his fingers to turn half of the life in the universe into dust. This includes all Guardians of the Galaxy except for the Rocket and Nebula.

Five years later in the year 2023, the surviving Avengers bring the team back in time and borrow the Infinity Stones from the past to undo Snap. Tragically in 2014, Cotton versions of Thanos, Nebula and Gamora (pre-the first Guardians movie) appear and travel to the future to battle the superhero team.

Fortunately, Hulk had already reversed the Snap and the backlog of the Avengers came back to life for the big battle. During this, the Gamora variant is a far cry from the likeness of a Star-Lord you’ve never met, and kicks him in the soldiers.

After Iron Man’s sacrificial death defeating Thanos’ variant, the Guardians of the Galaxy attend his funeral before returning to space with Thor.

The fourth Thor movie begins with the Asgardian god returning to form and having adventures with the Guardians of the Galaxy, before being separated from them in the first act of the film.

The first Marvel special on Disney+ is a 42-minute treatment that was also directed by James Gunn when filming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. The TV special has Knowhere buying Team Knowhere from The Collector and treating Cosmo the Spacedog as a new member of their gang.

Meanwhile, the plot centers around Praying Mantis and Drax kidnapping Footloose star Kevin Bacon as a Christmas gift for Star-Lord to remind him of his childhood. Aside from this amusing off-beat, the big reveal from Mantis is that she’s actually Peter’s half-sister since she was Ego’s daughter.

Galaxy of the Galaxy Vol 3 was recently brought forward to May 3, 2023.
