The March 2023 security update is finally rolling out to the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6a phones

The March 2023 update has finally reached the Pixel 6 series phones, a week after other Pixel devices.

The March security update rolled out to Pixel devices last week, bringing a wealth of bug fixes and new security vulnerabilities. But if you are a Pixel 6 series user, you probably noticed that your device was not part of the update. Fortunately, it looks like Google has finally re-released the update for Pixel 6 users, allowing them to fix some major vulnerabilities, while also getting some performance improvements in the process.

Now, in terms of repairs, there are very few. But perhaps most importantly, this update will correct a recently revealed screenshot issue, allowing users to retrieve cropped or redacted information from a screenshot taken with a Pixel device and edit it with the markup tool. Although the acropalypse vulnerability has been patched, it still does not fix screenshots that have been shared over the past few years. Therefore, if you share screenshots with sensitive data, it might be a good idea to try to trace your path, find these images and, if possible, remove them from public forums or services.

When it comes to updating, you can head to the Settings menu of your Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, or Pixel 6a to start the over-the-air download process, or if you want a more direct path, you can always manually download and install the images on your Pixel phone.
