5 reasons why you should be waiting for the iPhone 15

There is no doubt that the iPhone 14 Pro Max is currently the best iPhone out there. However, since last September, I’ve been advising those looking for a non-Pro iPhone to get the iPhone 13 instead of the iPhone 14. After all, the regular 14 models don’t offer any exciting changes, and they just aren’t worth the higher price tags.

Now that a few months have passed, I advise you not to buy the iPhone 13 or iPhone 14 Pro. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro may still be five months away, but there are plenty of reasons why the wait will be worth it.

1. The current iPhone cycle is coming to an end

Apple is known for maintaining the prices of its iPhone from the moment it is released to the day it is discontinued or replaced. So even when the iPhone cycle is coming to an end, customers still have to pay the same full price. Apple may have just released a new yellow iPhone 14, but the iPhone 14 is getting closer to the finish line.

A good rule of thumb is to avoid buying a new iPhone in February or March unless you don’t ought to. After all, for about the same price you’d pay today for an iPhone 14 model, you can get the next-generation iPhone 15 in the fall. You may also wait the extra five months if you are not in a hurry.

2. All iPhone 15 models can feature the dynamic island

With the launch of the iPhone 14 series, Apple ditched the controversial notch for the first time in favor of the all-new Dynamic Island. This new rendering clip is expected to be currently exclusive to the Pro variants. So, if you are not planning to get one of the iPhone 14 Pro models, you will have to settle. And as someone who has been using Dynamic Island every day for about half a year now, I can tell you that it is magic. It’s easy to use and offers intuitive shortcuts, which you don’t want to miss.

It is rumored that Dynamic Island will debut on non-professional iPhones in September. So, by waiting a little longer, you can buy the regular iPhone 15 model and still get this feature. Right now, you simply cannot get this iPhone feature if you are not willing to pay high prices.

3. Apple can finally hit on its own Lightning port

A large portion of people do not upgrade their iPhone every year. After all, these devices can last for years, especially with Apple’s commitment to its software update department. So if you tend to upgrade once every few years, you truly You might want to wait for the iPhone 15 for one main reason: Apple could finally ditch the Lightning port in favor of a universally certified USB Type-C port.

This means that your iPhone, iPad, and MacBook will finally share the same charging cable. Plenty of other non-Apple devices use a USB Type C port as well, saving you the need to carry around a bunch of different cords and adapters. If you rely exclusively on MagSafe charging and data transfer wirelessly, this point may not apply to you.

4. Pro iPhone 15 variants could get a new exterior

If you are planning to buy iPhone 14 Pro, this one is for you. Apple usually introduces a major chassis design change once every three years or so. The iPhone Pros have looked pretty much identical since the iPhone 12 Pro, which has a boxed stainless steel exterior. If the timing holds steady, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max could finally bring some notable changes to the table.

According to trusted leakers, these premium phones could feature more curved edges, making them more comfortable to hold. Additionally, they may have thinner display bezels, which makes way for more screen real estate. Finally, Apple could forgo the use of stainless steel and offer a titanium chassis instead. Considering that titanium doesn’t show scratches as easily as stainless steel, you might want to wait until you get your hands on the new and improved outer shell.

5. iPhone 15 Pro Max can pack periscope lens

If you are currently eyeing the iPhone 14 Pro Max, this fifth and final point is for you. Assuming the aforementioned design changes, the addition of a USB Type-C port, or the end of the iPhone 14 life cycle haven’t quite convinced you yet, you might want to check out the exclusive iPhone 15 Pro Max.

According to some solid rumors, this device will exclusively pack a periscope lens. This means that you can take advantage of better optical and digital zoom features. The leaks point to 6x optical zoom, which is a noticeable bump from the 3x available on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. So if you tend to shoot a lot, you might want to wait a few more months for an improved camera system at a similar price.

The beginning of a new iPhone era?

It is rumored that both the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro bring a lot of worthy changes and modifications, as all models support Dynamic Island and switch to USB Type-C. Not to mention, the Pro models could get an overhauled design, and the Pro Max variant could support improved zoom. So by waiting a little longer, you’ll likely save yourself buyer’s remorse, as your next package will likely be much larger than your current one.

Although, if your current phone is completely unusable and you can’t wait, you can buy an iPhone 14 series phone. Just avoid the non-Pro iPhone 14 models at all costs. It’s wise to buy the 13 or 14 Pro for now.
