Android 14 Beta 1.1 brings much-needed bug fixes to Pixel devices

The latest update brings fixes to the system UI, status bar, fingerprint reader, lock screen, and more.

The Android 14 Beta 1.1 patch is now rolling out for Pixel users, bringing a number of fixes and improvements. Although Android 14 was relatively usable in its beta form, there are a number of issues that you will run into if you use it as your daily driver. The update is now available over the air for compatible Pixel devices and comes in a size of 7.01MB.

The new update was announced on Android Beta subredditwith more details provided at Android developer site. You can check out all the fixes below:

As mentioned earlier, Android 14 Beta 1 isn’t all that bad when it comes to day-to-day usage, but there are issues here and there that you’ll run into that will leave you with some minor annoyances. Some of these issues include but are not limited to software stability, battery, and performance. But if you’re an Android enthusiast, this is a good way to get an early look at Google’s next Android operating system that’s sometimes due to arrive later this year.

How to download Android 14 beta

If you are interested in downloading the new Android beta, you have two different options. Perhaps the best way to download the beta is to sign up for the Android Beta Program. You can do this with Pixel 4a, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, and Pixel 7 series devices. Once you’re enrolled in the program, you can download the beta directly to your supported device via an over-the-air update.

If you are not registered, you can always install Android 14 manually as well. This takes a little more work, but is certainly manageable, and requires the user to select the appropriate factory image for their phone, and install it on their compatible device. You will have the option to sideload or flash the update to your device. If you are not one to take risks, you can always try the latest Android 14 updates on Android Emulator using a generic system image.
