Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 update from PlayStation addresses potential delay

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 He got a promising update from PlayStation. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 It’s one of the most anticipated games of 2023, but it’s also probably the entire console generation so far. The game gained a lot of hype after Insomniac Games knocked it out of the park with the first game and its spin-off, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. While Insomniac was a popular developer before, this launched their reputation into the stratosphere and made them one of the most beloved studios out there, enough for PlayStation to spend a significant amount of money to buy them out and make them 100% first party.

However, it has been nearly two years since we last saw anything from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The game had a great cinematic promo, and then…it pretty much fell off the face of the earth. PlayStation and Insomniac have reassured players that it’s still coming, in fact, they revealed it’s coming this fall at the start of 2023, but fans still worry a delay might be imminent since we haven’t seen anything for the game. It will be over in just a few months. Leaks suggest the game is coming in September, but there hasn’t even been a new screenshot from the game, let alone gameplay or details. With that said, PlayStation confirmed in a filing latest earnings report They still intend to release the game later this year. Hopefully, that will ease fan concerns about the delay.

As for when we will see the match, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 It’s likely to get some sort of showing at the rumored PlayStation showcase which is expected to happen in May or early June. PlayStation has been very quiet about first-party offerings lately, so it’s time to pull back the curtain and it’s usually early summer when that happens.
