While Yusaku had several powerful Link monsters to achieve victory, none were as creative as the impressive Firewall Dragon. With the ability to Special Summon a monster, every time another creature that Firewall Dragon points to is destroyed.

This extremely powerful effect helped Playmaker defeat some of the show’s best duelists, such as Revoler. This card has become so iconic due to its success in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG. Unfortunately, this extremely powerful card began to lose its relevance after it was banned from the game, preventing it from appearing more often in the VRAINS anime.

9 Hero Item Neos

Elemental Hero Neos prepares to attack

After learning about his previous life as a Supreme King, Jaden is introduced to the mysterious monsters of the new space. He also gets his own ace card, the powerful and versatile Elemental Hero Neos. By combining this already powerful warrior with his Neo space mates, Jaden creates different versions of Neos, each with a unique ability.

Zorc destroy the ancient blue eyes

Bakura, the ancient King of Thieves who swore revenge on Atem and his kingdom, had many different and fearsome beings under his command. However, none of them had such influence as Zorc, the physical embodiment of evil.

One of the last challenges Atem had to overcome before the end of the show was a huge black demon-like monster with a dragon sprouting from his body, Zorc. This monster was so powerful that not even the Egyptian gods could stop it. While Zorc is very popular among Yu-Gi-Oh! Fans, unfortunately it has not gained popularity outside of the fanbase.

7 No. 39: Utopia

Utopia as seen in the anime Xxal

When the XYZ summoning mechanic was introduced in Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal, many fans were upset with this new type of monster. Fortunately, the fanbase has slowly begun to accept this new beast, thanks in part to the face of this era, Number 39: Utopia. Utopia’s base form can stop any attack as long as it can separate XYZ matter.

This card will have a slew of different skins, each one with a different skill that helped Yuma defeat the talented swordsman he played against. Even today, more than ten years after Zexal was released, you can see players using a variant of Utopia in their decks. However, the fact that many anime fans have not seen Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal moves away from Utopia’s popularity.

6 Red eyes black dragon

Joey Wheeler may not have been as good a swordsman as Yugi or Kaiba, but he was no less famous than both of them. The young blonde’s unconventional and unique strategy was mostly based on lucky cards. Still, Joey can always count on Red-Eyes Black Dragon to get him out of trouble. After winning it from Rex Raptor during the Duelist Kingdom tournament, Red-Eyes become Joey’s strongest creature.

Over the years, Red-Eyes has been modified into various versions, and has appeared in almost every adaptation of the animated series. Tragically, Red-Eyes never manages to gain the same level of admiration as Yugi and Kaiba’s monsters, leaving him to live in their shadows.

5 Stardust Dragon

Yusei's Stardust Dragon Summon

The future committee known as Neo-Domino City can always count on Yusei and Stardust Dragon to save it. For decades, Stardust Dragon has been synonymous with Yusei, one of the most beloved Yu-Gi-Oh! Heroes of all time. The card is known for its versatility and the deep connection it has with Yusei.

Stardust Dragon has played a major role in getting fans from all over the world to give Synchro Summon Mechanic a chance with its beautiful and elegant design. Sadly, like many cards from the 5Ds era, Stardust came out at a time when the franchise wasn’t popular, which meant that many fans didn’t enjoy seeing it in the anime.

4 Egyptian gods

Egyptian Gods Ra, Obelisk, and Silver

Most of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! The anime, Three Leaves, was considered the most powerful and rarest in existence, the Egyptian gods. Each of these creatures possesses a mind of their own, in addition to the god powers they represent. Slippery, the Dragon of Heaven (Osiris), Obelek, the Tormentor, and the Winged Dragon of Ra.

Only the best swordsmen were able to obtain and control the power that these amazing creatures were holding within. The fact that no more copies could be created due to the gods not wanting to control mortals made them the most desirable cards in the show. Sadly, their counterparts in the TCG aren’t nearly as good, which means not many fans want a set of God cards unless they’re a collector.

3 Exodia

Zorc fighting Exodia

Duel Monsters is a game that has no shortage of powerful and scary creatures. However, few of them hold the same forbidden power, Exodia. This terrifying beast can bestow victory on its user when the five parts that make up its body are within reach.

Exodia was so powerful that the mischievous and treacherous Weevil had to steal the card from Yugi and send it to the bottom of the sea to avoid encountering it. In the TCG, fans have been using Exodia as a fun and quick way to defeat their opponents since it first came out. We’ve hardly seen Exodia in the anime, but Exodia’s phrase, Obliterate! Inherent in every Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan mind.

2 Dark wizard

Summon a dark wizard

Yugi and Atem, the heroes of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! Anime, has many loyal and memorable monsters on their side. However, whenever they needed both strength and versatility, they usually relied on their most loyal warrior, the mystical and experienced Dark Magician.

Known as the most powerful mage in the entire game, this card has been a symbol of the franchise since it was first released. Even anime fans who know nothing about the show or the game have heard of the Dark Wizard. While this card is, without a doubt, a symbol of the show, not many people outside of the anime community have heard of it.

1 Blue eyes white dragon

Yugi faces the three blue eyes of Kaiba

Dragons are one of the most common types of monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh! There are many different characters with one or two such cards in the deck. However, there is only one who controls the rest due to how much he likes him, the Legendary Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

This majestic and regal beast was the ace card of Yugi’s fierce and relentless rival, Seto Kaiba. Within the demo, there are only four copies of this powerful card, one of which is unplayable due to Kaiba shredding it. Unlike the rest of the monsters in the show, even people who have never been fans of the anime have at least heard of Kaiba’s famous butler. Without a doubt, The Blue-Eyes White Dragon is the most famous monster in the entire series.
