How to upgrade to Android 14 Developer Preview on Nothing Phone 1
You can start the process by getting your phone ready for the Android 14 update. You will need to follow the steps until the local update tool appears. First, make sure to backup your phone data. Once done, you can jump.
- Make sure your phone is running the latest version of Nothing OS with version 1.5.4.
- If the phone is up to date, create a folder in the internal storage called Ota.
- download Android 14 Beta update package
- Move the Android 14 Beta update package to Ota Folder.

- Now, open your phone’s dialer and enter the code #*#682#*#*. This will open the local updater.

- The local update tool will automatically be set to scan a file Ota folder to update.
- If it does not appear, just update by clicking Reloading button.
- If you do not have the correct file, an error message will appear.
- Once set, click Apply OTA directly from the check button to start the update process.
- Keep the phone turned on and on the local update screen.

- When done, you will see a message that says “OTA Success Update”. This will confirm correct installation.
- After rebooting, you should boot into Android 14.
Go back to Android 13
Even if you download to Android 14, you can still go back to Android 13. Of course, you will lose the information stored on the phone, so be sure to back up your data before proceeding. If you want to go back, just follow the steps above, and instead of the Android 14 bundle, just upload a file undo package. Follow the same process and if all goes well, you should restart Android 13. As mentioned earlier, Android 14 is not perfect yet, so there will be issues.
