Harald Hammerstorm, better known as Harry the Hammer, is an iconic character who is currently celebrating his 40th birthday along with the rest of the Warhammer series. There’s a chance Games Workshop may eventually bring him back to The Old World, but you don’t have to wait until then to check him out because Harry is already available as a legendary hero in Total War: Warhammer 3.
True to their word, Creative Assembly has started pumping out more legendary heroes recently. After releasing Gorduz Backstabber and Ulrika Magdova along with patch 3.0, the developers are now offering Harald Hammerstorm for free to all Total War: Warhammer 3 owners. Harry the Hammer is available in both Immortal Empires and The Realm of Chaos, But you will need to complete a short mission before you can unlock it.
Unlock and recruit Harald Hammerstorm
Just like Ulrika, Harry the Hammer is available exclusively online Full access to the war. If you don’t have an account yet, now is the time to sign up and grab not only Harald but a host of other freebies as well. If you have already linked your account in the past to claim Ulrika or other freebies, Harry the Hammer will automatically unlock once update 3.1.2 is downloaded for Total War: Warhammer 3.
Harald Hammerstorm is available to all Warriors of Chaos factions, but they cannot be recruited by Daemons of Chaos or any of the One Deity factions. None of the eligible factions are available in the base game, but you can unlock them by purchasing the Champions of Chaos DLC or the Chaos Warriors DLC. The recruitment process itself is straightforward. Once you reach level 15 with any of the eligible Legendary Lordsyou will be given a quest titled The Hammerstorm Cometh that takes over for you Kill 3,000 enemies in battle. Simply complete the mission and the legendary hero will appear next to your faction leader either immediately after or during the next turn. In addition to Harry, the quest also rewards you with 2,000 favors.
Harald Hammerstrom’s skills and abilities

Meanwhile, the Hammer of Harry gives him an active ability of the same name the reasons A blast that deals magical and armor-piercing damage.
The Bane Shield and The Hammer of Harry are the same items that Harald came equipped with on the table top, however, he lost the Damnation shield in Total War: Warhammer 3. But even with just two of his unique items, Harry the Hammer is an absolute beast in Fighting on his way to becoming one of the best legendary heroes in the Eternal Empires.
