It’s almost time for AEW Double or Nothing 2023 to go live, which is looking a little…too predictable. Or at least this is our view.
Double AEW start time or nothing
After Revolution took a slightly lower-profile approach, AEW went back to max booking. The Double or Nothing card contains 10 matches, and has a four-way main event where MJF defends his AEW World Championship against other pillars: Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, and “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry.
And while the match should be excellent, the design fell short. Some mocked MJF for asking for this match, as all of these promotional fights emphasized the difference in mic skills between him and his competitors.
We also need to talk about the rumors surrounding AEW World Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter. As mentioned by our sister site WhatCultureHowever, AEW CEO Tony Khan confirmed that Hayter was injured. Will you give up the title easily? Will you get a replacement at the last second?
Also, we’re curious how this year’s Anarchy In the Arena game goes. The match sees Brian Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Utah, and Jon Moxley from Blackpool Combat Club take on the re-created elite (Kenny Omega, “Executioner” Adam Page, and The Young Bucks). Last time around, X’s cover of The Troggs’ “Wild Thing” – Mox’s theme – was played throughout the entire game. We’re curious if they do it again, and if the match will continue in the area around the ring and the arena floor.
