Carlos Lugo’s body was found with gunshot wounds in a field nearly a month after he went missing.

Houston, Texas (KTRK) – An 18-year-old man is facing another murder charge months after the body of a missing teen was found in a field in February.
Zorian Stefon was already in custody, sitting in Harris County Jail for unrelated murder, when he was charged on June 3 with the murder of Carlos Lugo.

The body of the 14-year-old was found on February 4 at 2000 Fernat Street after a weeks-long search.
“The body was in a state of decomposition,” Houston police said in a news release.
Lugo was reported missing on 23 January after his mother said she last saw him on 21 January, when she dropped him off at a friend’s flat in Tidwell.

Lugo was allegedly a co-conspirator with Lewis during an attempted carjacking with a group of teens that turned fatal in November, according to investigators.
According to details obtained from ABC13 in court, Lewis and three of the teen suspects were in an apartment complex parking lot near the South Loop, checking cars for unlocked doors, then passing through vehicles that were left unlocked.
Lewis is charged with the murder of a man who tried to stop the teens from breaking into his girlfriend’s car at Buffalo Speedway on November 17, 2022.
Luis allegedly told family members, while in prison for evading a misdemeanor charge, that Lugo was talking to the police.
On January 13, Lewis was released from prison. Eight days later, Lugo’s mother reported him missing.
