What happened previously on One Piece?
During the clash between Kaidou and Luffy on the roof of the Skull Dome, Momonosuke constantly pushed Onigashima away from the Flower Capital. In the capital, people were celebrating and sending wishing lanterns to the sky. Touko’s longing to see her adoptive father breaks Hitetsu’s heart. Meanwhile, Kaido tasted the Night Sky while drinking, angering Luffy. After declining the offer, Luffy vows to celebrate after defeating Kaido.
In his drunken state, Kaido fires a huge blast of Haki, while Luffy’s anger grows when he sees Kaido get drunk during the battle. Annoyed by Luffy’s behavior, Kaido throws down the barrel of sake and bursts into tears over his ruined celebration. Completely under the influence of alcohol, Kaido laughed at Luffy, and charged at the latter. But Kaido easily got away and attacked him.
