The Google Photos update brings new video effects to Pixel and One subscribers

One of the best online cloud storage services is getting better. Google Photos has now added more capabilities to its service if you own a Pixel or are a Google One subscriber. The service has expanded its offering over time, providing users with many useful tools, and making it easy to sort, navigate, print, and even edit your photos and videos. The latest addition to the service brings new video effects, which will come in handy in adding more flair to your movies from now on.

The update was shared by the administrator Google Photos Twitter account People have picked it up 9to5Google. There are a total of 12 new video effects, giving users new and interesting ways to beautify their videos. You can see some of the effects in action in the tweet below. While there are quite a few effects out there, Google makes it very simple when trying to decide on one by providing a preview of the effect in the gallery view.

In order to check out the video effects, users will need to select a video, and then go into File release then head to effects region. From here, if you own a Pixel or a Google One subscriber, you’ll see new video effects in place like Dust Mix, Paper tear, B&W film, Lomo, Light leak, and more.

Just last month, Google brought powerful new editing tools to photo users on the web, bringing parity between the mobile app and the web experience. If you want to try out the new video effects, download the app to your smartphone and make sure you have a valid Google One account, or just launch the app on any compatible Pixel phone.
