Sniping in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 looks incredibly satisfying when those kills come down. With the new Ground War and Invasion game modes, it’s been a blast lining up shots on the big maps and racking up the kills from the non-stop action – but Warzone 2’s long-range Sniper is very different from your average Multiplayer.
Every sniper has slight differences with it, and players looking to improve their rank will be well equipped to know early on which ones they should focus on leveling up. Some snipers do better at rapid rangefinding and others are better at classic long range combat. We’ve scouted out the best snipers in the game and figured out their best use cases, too. We’ll keep this list updated whenever any changes are made to the game, so be sure to save this post and check back periodically.
Updated by Nathan Round on July 13, 2023: We’ve updated this guide to include the Victus XMR and FJX Imperium. We’ve also updated this tier list for the current standard of Season 4 and beyond.
Warzone 2 and MW2 Sniper rating criteria
Since most snipers have the ability to down armored opponents in less than two shots, we’ll instead focus on damage range as the top factor. The ranking criteria are as follows:
- file damage
- Rate of fire
- to treat / Mobility
- file damage It indicates how much damage each bullet does to a part of the body and also includes the range at which the damage to each part of the body begins to subside. If you’re aiming at another sniper, the gun with the better damage profile will kill more often.
- to treat And Mobility Two typical sniper uses are combined: long-range and fast-paced standard scope. A faster ADS will be better for rapid rangefinding, while better aim control will be better for taking time arranging shots.
- Rate of fire Refers to the time between shots, since all snipers deal very similar damage, getting more shots on multiple targets faster generally means more kills.

The first place for the best Sniper to use in Warzone 2 has to be Victus XMR. the Damage per shot for Victus XMR is the highest among all sniper rifles. Although this weapon’s bullet velocity remains consistent with other weapons of its class, the range of the Victus XMR is by far the largest. The biggest drawback to the Victus XMR is its slow ADS and its fast speeds, but you can easily build this gun to improve on both of these attributes.

the MCPR-300 Is the sniper rifle unlocked by default and is by no means a bad sniper. In fact, it falls ahead of Victus XMR in most stat categories. The MCRP-300 contains a file The third best level of recoil control and the second best level of damage. The Sniper Rifle also has the largest magazine out of all weapons in its class, and while this contributes to its reduced movement and handling, you won’t need to reload as often as you do with other rifles.

the FJX Imperium It has the highest range of the Sniper Rifle class, but lags behind the MCPR-300 and Victus XMR in terms of damage per shot. The advantage the FJX Imperium has over the latter two options is sight speed. So, if you want a weapon that still performs well for long-distance sniping, but is a bit faster than heavy weapons, this sniper rifle is a great choice.

the Signal 50 It is the only semi-automatic sniper rifle in Modern Warfare 2 and therefore owns it The highest rate of fire. Although its point-down speed and reload speed are slower, you’ll still be able to quickly pick off plenty of targets at any range. It has a slightly higher limb and lower torso damage profile for really long shots than other weapons, but it lags behind the Victus XMR by a narrow margin. The Signal-50 also has a slower bullet velocity, which means some adjustments will have to be made to account for bullet drop at distance.

the SP-X-80 He is the king of sniping at close range. It’s very light and mobile with a fast aiming time, and has a slightly faster rate of fire than other snipers (except for the Signal 50, which is better for long-range battles anyway). You will see a lot of killing potential with this weapon, and it is definitely the best choice for Multiplayer. However, while this sniper is fast and deadly, it doesn’t work as well as previous options from great distances – which is important for Warzone 2’s larger maps.

saying that LA-B 330 Is the worst really doesn’t do him justice, but someone has to be. We really feel it is Essentially the younger brother of the SP-X 80. It’s a good, lightweight sniper and will perform well in fast-range situations, but once you unlock the SP-X 80 you’ll want to make the switch – it’s slightly outperformed in maneuverability, damage range, and rate of fire.
