Denji and the new girl dashed at each other. Instead of hitting him, she hurled it at one of the fallen men nearby who was holding a gun, which turned out to be fake. Denji was puzzled and questioned if she was truly his foe, considering her defense and her singing during the attack. Yoshida stepped in, introducing her as Fumiko Mifune. Fumiko then unveiled her affiliation with the Tokyo Special Division 7 for Public Safety, disclosing that she had been assigned as his high school protector.
Denji got really mad, but Yoshida explained that because Denji was famous as Chainsaw Man, he needed protection, and the guys who attacked him knew his secret. Fumiko admired Denji’s strength as a human, and he thought she was only flirting as part of her job. Fumiko disagreed, saying she actually liked him because he was Chainsaw Man. Yoshida asked Fumiko to take her job seriously and to make sure Denji wouldn’t need to fight anymore.
Meanwhile, Asa and Yoru watched the news talking about them. Asa liked that they said she looked pretty, while Yoru enjoyed being famous for their job. However, Asa, slurring her words, pretended to feel weird about all the fame because it invaded her privacy. Yoru looked confused, but Asa’s fake worry disappeared, and she smiled at the news story. Denji looked at a poster from the Chainsaw Man Church and seemed confused to see Asa in it. A stranger appeared and started talking to Denji, making him wonder if he knew him. The stranger said they’d met before, even though Denji didn’t remember. The guy finally revealed himself as the Sword Man.
