Chapter 22 – The Fell And The Divine

Chapter 22 - map overview

The fight of chapter 22 may be one of the most challenging ones if you go into it unprepared. The order in which you get your emblems back adds to the difficulty. As you are unable to fully engage, you will have to be more strategic.

Not only that, but there is an infinite reinforcement and your enemies will not move unless you are close enough to multiple of them. By using some of the best skills, such as dancing or warping, you definitely should get your emblems back as soon as possible.

Alear’s Paralogue – The Connector

Fire Emblem- Engage - Alear Paralogue

The Connector is Alear’s paralogue, and one of the most difficult ones. It serves as the final side mission where you have to face off against Corrupted enemies so that you can retrieve the Bond Ring. Pairing acquired rings with the right units is of paramount importance if you want to win.

The map may seem a bit familiar, as it uses a similar garden to the one seen in Chapter 2. The objectives of the map may sound easy, but you should be prepared for a long battle, and have all your characters at high enough levels, at least 15.

Chapter 26 – The Last Engage

As the name of the chapter suggests, this is the final engage. Obviously, a Fire Emblem game isn’t going to have an easy final battle, so this one makes you fight against a dragon. Starting unprepared is practically suicide, so make sure you have everything in order beforehand.

You should definitely take advantage of your Bond Ring here, raise your Supports as high as possible, and have some meals on hand. If you still haven’t, familiarize yourself with the best personal skills among the characters, and use them wisely.

Chapter 19 – The Dead Town

Fire Emblem Engage - Chapter 19 - The Dead Town: Saphir battling against Corrupted

After an easy chapter 18, you get to the dead town. This battle can prove to be quite challenging if you are not used to playing defense. It is also one of those battles that are the most difficult on your first playthrough.

If you have the DLC Expansion Pass, then you should definitely use Camilla. She will make the battle a lot easier, as she is able to get rid of some of the miasma polluting the area.

6
Chapter 11 – Retreat

Fire Emblem Engage - Chapter 11 - Retreat

Chapter 11 may be your first real challenge of the game. Being unable to rewind makes you more susceptible to random crits, and it also makes it tougher to take out all bosses.

You can not change your units on this map, but you can swap their positions, as you should. Place the slowest characters on the front lines, and the others on the back. Remember to adjust everyone’s equipment and add vulnerabilities to their inventory.

5
Lyn Paralogue – The Lady Of The Plains

Fire Emblem- Engage - Lyn Paralogue

Even though she is one of the most sympathetic and loved characters of the Fire Emblem franchise, Lyn’s paralogue is also one of the toughest. If you decide to take it on immediately after it is available, it is nearly impossible to win.

If you do not like challenges, you should hold off on it, until you get an additional Emblem Ring. If you choose to use your fliers, be careful of enemy archers and Lyn’s sniping.

Chapter 21 – The Return

Fire Emblem Engage - Chapter 21 - The Return

Chapter 21 is another battle that will have you pulling your hair during your first playthrough. The map is full of triggers, and the fight may last for hours if you go in blind. The wyverns that appear in the beginning are endless, so you should be extremely strategic with the placement of your units.

If you want to taste victory at the castle of Elise, you should take advantage of units that can use dancing and warping. By now you should virtually have all the Emblem Rings as well.

3
Chapter 24 – Recollections

Fire Emblem Engage - Chapter 24 - Recollections

The mountainous region of chapter 24 will offer you one of the most challenging battles. You should under no circumstance go into it unprepared or under-leveled. Do as many paralogues as you can beforehand, and gain as much experience as you can.

Prepare yourself to fight against one of the strongest characters in the game. For the other enemies, whether you decide to rush forward or take it slow, it is up to your preferred game style.

2
Chapter 25 – The Final Guardian

Fire Emblem Engage - Chapter 25 - The Final Guardian

The fight of the Gradlon temple is one you will never forget. You begin already with a disadvantage, as your team is split into two. You will have to be extremely strategic once again with the placement of your units. If you want, you can try warping them all into one side, to make the fight a little bit easier.

There will also be a powerful AoE attack you will have to avoid, as you make progress through the map. Do not try to take to fight all the reinforcements, as you will be stuck in a never-ending battle.

1
Chapter 17 – Serenity In Ruin

Fire Emblem Engage - Chapter 17 - Serenity in Ruin

Chapter 17 is the hardest battle you will have to face, if you face it blind. The way the map and boss mechanics work may catch you completely off guard. There are 5 bosses and all have multiple health bars. If you are not careful, you can easily aggro most of them at the same time.

You, also have to be careful of the incoming reinforcements, and never leave your units alone. Using the turtle formation, Goddess Dance, or good emblem skills such as Hold Out or Dual Strike may help you out.
