Besides the outstanding 3D animation and greatly choreographed fights, RWBY is a show known for its unique and creative weapons. As part of their Huntsmen training, students are given the chance to create a weapon that is distinctive and personal.
While most weapons fulfill their purpose of fighting and defeating Grimm, not every arm is as effective in combat as others. Below, we will discuss which are the most powerful pieces of armament found in the world of Remnant.

10 Gianduja
Coco Adele, the leader of Team CFVY, is a fashionista who has never been seen on the battlefield looking anything other than fabulous. As such, her weapon, Gianduja, perfectly encapsulates her personality. At first glance, it may appear like Coco is simply carrying a stylish shoulder bag.
Yet, this accessory hides inside a heavy and powerful machine gun that can shoot down several Grimm in a matter of seconds. It is an amazing piece of equipment that has helped Coco become one of Beacon’s best students. Still, it is not an arm designed with mobility in mind, which can become a problem when being chased or cornered.
9 Myrtenaster
As a proud member of the Schnee Family, Weiss has access to many different kinds of Dust. By incorporating this resource with her swordsmanship skills, she created a sharp and durable rapier that fully utilized the Dust that she could obtain.
The hilt of her sword has several different compartments, each filled with a type of Elemental Dust. During the battle, Weiss can use the Dust contained in Myrtenaster to create Glyphs with varying effects according to the material used. Still, this weapon relies heavily on Weiss’ Semblance and would not be nearly as effective being utilized by someone else.
8 Gambol Shroud
Blake’s fighting style relies on stealth and agility due to her similarities with a ninja. To aid her during battle, she created a versatile weapon that possesses both short and long-range attacks, as well as a way for her to escape conflict.
Gambol Shroud is made of two different short blades, each with an internal firearm mechanism inside. They are connected by an enhanced ribbon that can withstand Blake’s weight without any issue. Thanks to this, the young Belladonna can enter a fight quickly and make her way out just as fast. Nonetheless, it offers little to no defense, which can become an issue when Blake cannot escape.
7 Ruyi Bang & Jingu Bang
Sun may not be a main character, but the few times we have seen him fight have helped fans understand why he is the leader of Team SSSN. Most of his feats in the show were achieved thanks to his powerful and inconspicuous-looking weapons, Ruyi Bang and Jingu Bang. These nunchaku-pistol hybrids help Sun utilize his agility and breathtaking speed to its fullest.
They are small enough for the blonde to move around when fighting but sufficiently sturdy to deflect attacks. When needed, Sun can combine the two into a long bo staff, which he uses to deal strong and devastating blows. Nonetheless, they can be countered easily, given that Sun did not add any material to keep them from slipping from his hands.
6 Crescent Rose
Since she was little, Ruby Rose was fascinated with weapons of all kinds. As soon as she entered Combat Academy, she used the knowledge she had acquired throughout the years to design an intricate and imposing piece of equipment, Crescent Rose.
This powerful arm can be used as two different weapons depending on what Ruby needs at the time. It can be a long and sharp scythe that can mow down Grimm without issue. It can also become a high-caliber sniper rifle that can fire from several feet without missing. Still, as explained by Qrow, a scythe is a difficult weapon to utilize, and most could not use it properly.
5 Milo & Akouo
Pyrrha Nikos’ design was always tightly related to ancient Greek and Spartan equipment. Not only can this inspiration be seen in her clothes but also in her signature weapons. Pyrrha’s Milo was a javelin with the capability to transform itself into a xiphos (traditional Greek sword) or a rifle.
Thanks to this, Pyrrha could fight opponents in short, middle, or long-range combat without having to carry other pieces of equipment. Akouo was a sturdy and reliable shield that kept Pyrrha safe from enemy attacks for most of her career. Sadly, they were not infallible, as seen when Cinder destroyed them during her fight against Pyrrha, ending in the tragic demise of the latter.
4 Floating Array
Penny Polendina was a technologically advanced, fully autonomous android created to keep the Kingdom of Atlas safe from Grimm. Her creator and father, Pietro, wanted her to have the advantage even when fighting against many opponents at the same time. This led to the creation of Floating Array, a group of several swords connected by a firm and elastic metal wire.
Penny had absolute control over each sword, allowing her to use them to take on multiple enemies at once or overwhelm her adversaries in one-on-one encounters. Even proficient fighters like Pyrrha had a hard time countering Penny’s imposing armament. Woefully, the metal wiring was a fatal flaw, as it could be easily used against Penny to destroy her body.
3 Omen
Raven Branwen, the leader of the most infamous bandit tribe in Remnant, is a worldwide-feared warrior. While this reputation comes mostly from her brutal and merciless fighting style, many fighters are also terrified of her weapon, the sword Omen. This blade is sharper than most other swords in Remnant, which helps Raven get rid of Grimm or enemies to her tribe with a single slice.
When needed, Raven can switch the blade of Omen for one made of Dust. She has several different blades, and each allows her to use the elemental powers of Dust during combat. Nonetheless, her weapon is not without flaws, which has caused Raven to be defeated by characters like Cinder in the past.
2 The Long Memory
Due to a curse placed on his soul, Salem’s former partner, Ozma, has been alive for several centuries. Throughout all this time, he has been accompanied by his trusty weapon, an inconspicuous-looking cane named The Long Memory. Ozma tends to use this weapon for physical confrontations, either to hit the body of his opponents or parry their strikes.
With each attack, this cane absorbs kinetic energy, strengthening and giving it the ability to release the energy stored inside in a massive explosion. Nevertheless, the strongest characters in the show, like Cinder, can overpower this piece of equipment, seeing as the woman killed his reincarnation, Ozpin, despite having The Long Memory by his side.
1 Anesidora
Despite all the weapons in RWBY having individual advantages, most of them are created with certain situations in mind. Taking this into account, Velvet created an artifact that would help her overcome any challenge presented to her, her camera Anesidora.
By taking a picture of a weapon, Velvet can create a Dust construct of that piece of equipment. With this tool by her side, Velvet can use any arm that she may need, from swords to rifles. If she feels like a weapon is not suitable for an opponent, she can simply change her equipment with the press of a button. Anesidora is an incredible weapon that has no known flaw yet.
