Weapons are everywhere in Lies Of P, and players may want to acquire each one to add some variety to their arsenal. Though most weapons can be found within the world itself, and some can be purchased from Merchants or traded with Alidoro, getting the Golden Lie is a long process that spans the entire game.
The Golden Lie is a Special Weapon you can acquire toward the end of Lies Of P’s story – depending on whether you have fulfilled the prerequisites to do so. It is a Blunt blade-type weapon with a C-scaling in both Motivity and Technique, making it more of a dual-scaled weapon. The Golden Lie also has two Fable Arts: Storm Attack and Furious Golden Hits.

How To Get The Golden Lie Weapon
Where To Find The Portrait Of A Boy
The first step to acquiring the Golden Lie is to find the Portrait Of A Boy. This portrait can be found as early as Chapter 5, within the Black Rabbit Brotherhood Hideout – just ahead of the Malum District Town Hall Stargazer.
Once you have acquired the Portrait Of A Boy, head on back to Hotel Krat – which you will have to do anyway during Chapter 5 through the Black Rabbit Brotherhood Hideout – and speak to Geppetto. He will first tell you to speak to Antonia to acquire the key to Rosa Isabelle Street. However, speaking to him a second time will see Geppetto taking the painting and hanging it on the wall in his study.
Getting The Golden Lie Weapon
To acquire the Golden Lie, you will need to be at a high level of Humanity before the end of the game. Humanity is measured in four levels:
- Your Springs Are Reacting
- Your Ergo Is Whispering
- You Feel Warmth
- Your Heart Is Pounding
In order to get a high level of Humanity, you will need to lie to other characters, acquire and listen to Vinyl Records (most of which can be obtained through completing side quests), and solve all the riddles given to you by the King Of Riddles. Contrary to popular belief, you will need to begin to level up your Humanity status before you acquire the Portrait Of A Boy.
The Golden Lie will be introduced to you after speaking to Sophia, and then to Geppetto once you have gained sufficient levels of Humanity. This can happen right after acquiring the portrait itself – if you are actively completing all the steps to acquire Humanity. As your Humanity status grows, the Golden Lie will also begin to grow out of the portrait.
As the method of acquiring the Golden Lie is essentially the same as that to get the Rise Of P ending, head over to this guide here where we detail every action you will need to take to acquire sufficient Humanity. However, we also suggest continuing to lie and listen to any newly acquired Vinyl Records upon granting Sophia peace at the Ascension Bridge.
Once you have received the message “Your Heart Is Pounding,” the Golden Lie should be made available for you. You will know that the weapon is ready to be unlocked if it is glowing.
