If you’re here, you’re likely looking for some tips and tricks to overcome this challenging fight. While this boss only has two phases, he has an arsenal of special attacks and will use every trick in the book to take the player down. Not to worry, because we’ll go over every attack and tell you how to fight back against the infamous Kraven The Hunter.
Kraven Phase 1: You’re Trapped In Here With Me
Kraven is an absolute monster, and he brings a varied moveset to this fight. It’s important to note that he hits like a truck. While many bosses have dangerous special attacks, Kraven’s normal attacks are also incredibly dangerous. You don’t want to take hits from him at all if you can help it. The good news is that Peter is no slouch, and the symbiote suit makes him an absolute powerhouse.
Symbiote Surge
Listen, Peter’s Symbiote Surge is like Kratos going into Spartan Rage. You want to use it. If it’s available, smash those buttons and get ready to put anything in your path in a whole lot of pain. If you manage to charge it up in the second phase of the fight, use it there, too. Kraven is a tough opponent, and you’ll want every edge you can get.
Kraven’s Leap
Kraven will often try to take the high ground and then make a leaping strike against you. It’s a bold move, but it’s a good one if he lands the hit. Since this attack has a red ring, you have two options. You can dodge or parry the attack. In most cases, you’ll want to attempt a parry. If you succeed, you’ll create an opening where you can lay down some hurt.
Kraven’s Charge
Kraven may rush in and just try to lay you out with a good old punch. Dodge or parry this attack. You can usually sidestep it. If he’s far away, you can see the attack coming from a mile away.
Mines
In both this phase and the next one, Kraven will activate mines beneath you. If you’re in the middle of them, you’re going to have a tough time getting away in time. You may think you can jump to avoid damage, but these mines call down electricity from above. So, even if you leap into the air, you’re going to get zapped when they go off. Your best bet is to try web-zipping away, even if that means chargin toward Kraven himself.

Kraven Phase 2: The Hunter
When Kraven sets off a nearby bell, the fight changes arenas. The second phase of the fight will have Kraven use even more special moves and gadgets to take you down. The most notable weapon in his arsenal is the bell that sends your symbiote into a painful frenzy. Expect Kraven to combine many of his new moves here with the special attacks he used in the first phase of the fight. This means you’ll have to be on your toes as he throws everything he has at you.
Blinding Flash
Sometimes Kraven needs to make a hasty escape because you’re giving him such a beating. When that happens, he will use something between a smoke bomb and a flash grenade. Basically, he’s going to mess with your vision and use the opportunity to make a devious attack. Fortunately, you still have a Spidey sense to let you know when danger is imminent. Once your vision returns, expect to see the laser of a sniper rifle aimed at Peter from afar.
Kraven’s Bell
Kraven has been expecting you, and he’s not exactly interested in a fair fight. So, he has a giant bell ready to make your symbiote writhe in pain. When he hits it with his spear, you’re going to immediately feel the pain. Furthermore, while the bell continues to ring, you can’t use any of your special moves. It’s a big deal, and you will want to deal with that bell as soon as possible. You’ll notice that the symbiote is in great pain because tendrils will squirm around near the shoulders of your suit.
Use Your Webs
There’s no way to take the bell out of the picture, so you’ll just have to web it up whenever Kraven attacks it. The webbing will stop the ringing, and you’ll be back to full power. Fortunately, you can web up the bell almost immediately if you’re quick enough. Even if Kraven is attacking you, take care of the bell before anything else.
Kraven’s Cloaking
Kraven has a cloaking device, because why not? When he disappears, you’ll likely want to keep checking behind you. Kraven will likely move in with a big attack that’s supposed to catch you off guard. Just be ready to dodge as soon as you catch sight of him again. This can be a difficult attack to parry or dodge, do mak sure you have enough health to take a hefty hit.
Kraven’s Sniper
When Kraven puts some distance between the two of you, you’ll sometimes see the telltale sign of a sniper laser targeting you. It takes a moment to charge up, so you’ll want to time your dodge accordingly. You can also attempt to break line of sight by getting behind a nearby tree. While this can be a good strategy, it can be a little hit or miss. A well-timed dodge is usually going to be your best bet against this attack.
Calling In The Hounds
Kraven may be a hunter, but he isn’t interested in fighting fair. Instead, he’ll sometimes call in two of his mechanical hounds. These can be pretty dangerous if left alone. You can use normal attacks against them, but I would recommend using specials or using a finishing move if you have the energy for it. You’ll want to watch out for the damaged hounds, as they’re set to explode. So, when you do damage them, you want to move away before they get in one last attack. Kraven will likely use this tactic multiple times during the second phase of the fight.
Spear Strike
Kraven is a big fan of the spear during this fight. He will usually throw it at the large bell in the center of the arena, but sometimes he’ll attack with it. If he throws it at you, you can dodge it pretty easily. You can see the attack coming pretty far in advance. Sometimes, however, he will jump in and slam his spear into the ground with an electric burst. This move will be accompanied by a yellow ring. For this, you’ll want to parry the attack. It’s not really possible to dodge it, so you have to face it head on.
Kraven’s Axe
Seemingly out of nowhere, Kraven will produce an enormous ax and take a big spinning swing at you. This is a pretty vicious attack, and the yellow ring means you have to parry it. Be sure to get the timing right on this one. A direct hit from this special attack is pretty devastating. He’ll likely use this several times during your fight. It will be mixed in among his other weapon-based attacks.
Kraven’s Slam
Kraven will move in for an unarmed slam. This move will be accompanied by a blue ring that means it cannot be blocked or parried. That means your only option is to dodge this attack. Fortunately, it should be fairly easy to dodge. It’s nearly impossible to get cornered in this forest area where the fight takes place. So, just move backwards and you’ll be fine. He doesn’t seem to use this move very often, so you may only encounter it once or twice in the second half of the fight.
