Yesterday afternoon, Rockstar Games finally confirmed the moment we had all been waiting for. The very first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released on Tuesday, December 5th at 9AM ET. The announcement sent the internet into an absolute frenzy, with various video games also deciding to get in on the hype.

Titles such as Call of Duty: Warzone, Fall Guys, and Halo Infinite have decided to recreate the GTA 6 announcement for their own benefit. Fall Guys was the first to set off this trend, tweeting out an image in the same style as Rockstar’s, reading, “New trailer, Wednesday, December 6, 12PM GMT.”

Warzone’s DMZ Wallet Feature Is Reportedly Returning To Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

According to a new leak, Modern Warfare 3 Zombies will soon see DMZ’s wallet feature return.

Next up was Halo Infinite, with another image resembling Rockstar’s, which reads, “New trailer, Monday, December 4, 9AM PT.” Then came along Raven Software, who decided to use this opportunity to promote the upcoming season of Call of Duty: Warzone, which kicks off on December 6. As I’m sure you’ve already guessed by now, the image was once again in the same style as Rockstar’s, reading, “Call of Duty: Warzone, Wednesday, December 6.”

It’s all clearly in jest, as even fellow gaming developers are well aware that Grand Theft Auto 6 is likely going to be one of the biggest games of the generation. Rockstar teased fans early last month with a statement on X (formerly known as Twitter) confirming that the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto game would be released in early December.

Thankfully, Rockstar didn’t leave us waiting long, as on December 1st the studio announced (with the now heavily meme’d image) that the first trailer would be released this Tuesday, December 5th. Rockstar’s original post from last month has amassed over 183 million views on X alone, with over 1.6 million likes.

Less than 24 hours since the announcement, Rockstar’s second teaser has garnered over 116 million views and over 1.6 million likes just on X. We think it’s fair to say that Grand Theft Auto 6 is shaping up to be something absolutely monumental.
