Best Hercules Decks

Marvel Snap's Hercules card surrounded by Vulture, Human Torch, Spider-Man, Phoneix Force, Nimrod, and Venom.

Hercules’ Ability says “The first time another card moves here each turn, move it to another location.” This means that move cards that have Abilities triggered by their move (like Human Torch, Vulture, or Multiple Man) can enjoy a second boost when they slide into Hercules’ lane. This is only possible on the first move of each turn, so Hercules’ lane should be kept as clear as possible throughout the match. Below are two useful decks, one centered on Power-gaining cards like Human Torch and Vulture, and the second focused heavily on the Phoenix Force. Both are move decks with different goals.

The first time another card moves here each turn, move it to another location.

Classic Move Deck

Marvel Snap deck comprised of Hercules, Ghost Spider, Human Torch, Iron Fist, Cloak, Dagger, Doctor Strange, Multiple Man, Hulk Buster, Vulture, Miles Morales' Spider-Man, and Heimdall.

This is the classic move deck and covers many of the bases you would expect. The ideal play here is to get Power-gaining cards (like Human Torch, Dagger, and Vulture) boosted up. This can be done a few different ways, and Hercules can come in handy along the way. There are the basic move cards like Ghost-Spider, Iron Fist, Cloak, Doctor Strange, and Heimdall, that can all be used to move cards from one lane to the other.

Players can also rely on Hercules to give some of these cards an additional boost when they enter his lane. Hulk Buster can also be popped on one of the cards (specifically Human Torch, if possible) to get an even larger boost to their Power. Miles Morales Spider-Man is a huge boon as well, as the card’s Cost becomes only 1 if a card moved the turn prior.

Deck Contents:

  • Hercules (4-Cost, 6-Power)
  • Ghost-Spider (1-Cost, 2-Power)
  • Human Torch (1-Cost, 2-Power)
  • Iron Fist (1-Cost, 2-Power)
  • Cloak (2-Cost, 4-Power)
  • Dagger (2-Cost, 2-Power)
  • Doctor Strange (2-Cost, 3-Power)
  • Multiple Man (2-Cost, 3-Power)
  • Hulk Buster (3-Cost, 5-Power)
  • Vulture (3-Cost, 3-Power)
  • Miles Morales Spider-Man (4-Cost, 5-Power)
  • Heimdall (6-Cost, 8-Power)

Hercules Phoenix Force Deck

Marvel Snap deck comprised of Hercules, Ghost Spider, Human Torch, Carnage, Multiple Man, Deathlok, Hulk Buster, Venom, Phoenix Force, Shuri, Nimrod, and Arnim Zola.

This move deck focuses on using the Phoenix Force to boost the Power of either Human Torch or Multiple Man. The Phoenix Force’s Ability states “On Reveal: Revive one of your destroyed cards and merge with it. That card can move each turn.” This means that players will need to destroy the card they want to conjoin with the Phoenix Force and then play the Force on the next turn to revive it.

Doing this to a card like Human Torch can boost the card’s Power to 7 (with the potential to gain even more with Hulk Buster) and then double each time it moves for the rest of the game. The same strategy applied to Multiple Man. Players can also move these cards into Hercules‘ lane to get an additional move/boost that turn.

Deck Contents:

  • Hercules (4-Cost, 6-Power)
  • Ghost-Spider (1-Cost, 2-Power)
  • Human Torch (1-Cost, 2-Power)
  • Carnage (2-Cost, 2-Power)
  • Multiple Man (2-Cost, 3-Power)
  • Deathlok (3-Cost, 5-Power)
  • Hulk Buster (3-Cost, 5-Power)
  • Venom (3-Cost, 3-Power)
  • Phoenix Force (4-Cost, 5-Power)
  • Shuri (4-Cost, 1-Power)
  • Nimrod (5-Cost, 6-Power)
  • Arnim Zola (6-Cost, 0-Power)

Best Hercules Counters

Marvel Snap's Hercules card surrounded by Shang-Chi and the Shadow King.

Because Hercules is a move card without an On Reveal or Ongoing Ability, it doesn’t have many counters. Normally, Cosmo or Enchantress (On Reveal and Ongoing disrupts respectively) make an appearance in a counters list, but for Hercules, you really have to pay attention to the counters for its synergy cards.

Since Hercules gives an additional move/boost to move cards, the most common accompaniments are going to be Human Torch, Multiple Man, Dagger, etc. All of these cards can get well over 10-Power during a good game. This means that cards like Shang-Chi and Shadow King are the biggest threat to a successful Hercules play. Killmonger can also be a thorn in the side of Human Torch players!

Best Hercules Synergies

Marvel Snap's Hercules card surrounded by Vulture, Dagger, Multiple Man, and the Human Torch.

The cards that synergize with Hercules are ones that get a boost from moving around the board. These are cards like Multiple Man, Vulture, Dagger, or Human Torch. All of these cards have huge Power potential when Hercules is on the board. Players should keep in mind that these cards will only get an additional move if they are entering Hercules’ lane for the first time that move.

Is Hercules Worth It?

Marvel Snap's Hercules card surrounded by question marks.

Hercules is a cool card addition, but because he fits into only a few specific decks/archetypes (and comes in at a whopping 4-Cost), it’s a good idea to wait to grab this card until it is included in a series drop or appears in a later Spotlight Cache. Players who enjoy playing move decks or those who have a lot of Spotlight Keys saved up may enjoy Hercules on day one, but for the vast majority of players, this card will be a weak release.
