One overlap between Palworld and its peers is the presence of Pal types (called “Elements” in Palworld). This similarity makes the game much more palatable for fans of the Pokemon franchise but there are some key differences that will be covered in the guide below.

Palword Element Chart

The element’s strengths and weaknesses work in a nearly identical way to Pokemon’s type mechanic. One major difference is the number of types/elements present, with Pokemon totaling 18 types and Palworld housing only nine elements. Remembering Palworld’s element matchups is much easier than other monster-taming games because of the small number of them in the game, but also because the game gives you the ability to access the element chart shown above directly from the in-game menu.

Will There Be More Elements Added To The Game?

While there are only nine elements in Palworld at the time of writing, the developers may add new elements to the game at a future date. Pokemon only had 15 types when it originally launched, with three additional types being added in future generations. Looking at the influence the Pokemon franchise has already had over Palworld, it will likely follow a similar route.

Finding The Element Chart In-Game

It can be a bit tricky to find the element chart due to the game’s menu setup and the number of tips present. To locate the element chart (shown above) in the game, players should follow the steps below:

1. Pause the game and navigate tabs to the Options tab.
2. Once here, players should scroll down to the Survival Guide menu.
3. In the Survival Guide, scroll down to the Elements section. It is located below Item Rot and above Status Effects.

There are a whopping 41 sections in the Survival Guide, so it is easy to miss the element chart. It will be located near the bottom of the menu.
