When Do They Split Up?
If you’re wondering when you’re going to need to deal with the team being split up, you will need to deal with it during Chapter 7. This is relatively halfway through the game. While Kiryu doesn’t leave Hawaii until the very end of this chapter and the beginning of the next one, he won’t be in your party for Chapter 7.
This is another spoiler warning.During Chapter 7, you will be looking for Kiryu after he was injured during a fight and taken from your group. Kiryu will be found and needs to go back to Japan to face his own mortality. While he still helps Ichiban from Japan, he will also spend his time coming to terms with his imminent death at the hands of his cancer.
How Do You Switch Between Them?
A lot of players want to know how to switch between the two heroes. Unfortunately, this isn’t as simple as you may think it is. In order to switch between them, you will have to complete their chapters. Kiryu is the main character of the even-numbered chapters, while Ichiban has the odd-numbered ones. It is unclear as to whether or not you’d be able to switch between them in New Game Plus.
