The Emperor will mention that he has a hideout in Baldur’s Gate. Here’s how you can find it.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has some fascinating lore and locations that you can find that truly make the world come to life. You can find places that meant something to your companions and places that were relevant to past games in the series (such as where Ansur the Dragon is now).

He is a devil, after all.
One place that could be super beneficial to find is the Emperor’s old hideout in Baldur’s Gate. You won’t actually make it to Baldur’s Gate until you reach Act 3, but once you’re there, you can find this interesting hideout of your Illithid friend.
Where Is The Emperor’s Hideout?
The Emperor will mention that his hideout is located in the basement of Elfsong Tavern. If you look in the northeastern area of the map of Baldur’s Gate, you will find a large tavern (the red circle above) which is known as the Elfsong Tavern. This is actually extremely close to where you enter the Lower City, as it is the second building to your right. This means that you can head there as soon as you reach the Lower City, making it a great location to stop in and explore. If you head to the tavern, you can go on down to the basement (though you may want to speak with the chef first and help with his rat problem). You will find a hidden lever near the wine in the cellar that will open up the entrance to this hidden area.
You can also reach this area via a ladder in the sewers, but you won’t make it to that section of the city until much later. It is recommended you just use the Elfsong Tavern entrance.
What Is Inside The Hideout?
Once you actually reach the hideout, you will be attacked by Githyanki. Considering they are after the Emperor, it isn’t shocking that you will run into them in an area that was important to him. Make sure you loot everything on the Githyanki. Their armor is perfect for Lae’zel (or any other Githyanki). After taking care of the Githyanki, you can enter the Emperor’s Hideout and loot some amazing stuff from his time in Baldur’s Gate, including his sword (which is great to use in the fight against Orin).
If you’re keen on romancing the Emperor, you will need to collect his items from the hideout.
