If you’ve done any traveling in the game, you’ve likely come across a Griffin or two. Sometimes you can get around them, but other times they’ll force you into a bit of a fight. If you damage them enough, they’ll occasionally take flight and go home to their nest. Well, if you manage to find one of their nests, they’ll have nowhere to run.

Where To Find The Forested Griffin’s Nest
Once you find it, this Griffin’s nest feels as if it’s hidden in plain sight. When taking the road from Vernworth to Checkpoint Rest Town (which is an admittedly long journey) you only need to head north about halfway through the journey. This will eventually bring you to the edge of a cliff where the Griffin’s nest rests directly below. Now, of course, you can jump down into the nest. That’s what I did. However, taking that route will cause you to take a lot of damage, which could be detrimental to the upcoming fight.
Your other option is to go the long way around through the Misty Marshes. It’s hard to say which route is more dangerous, because the Misty Marshes can be an intense zone after the already-intense Ancient Battleground. Just keep in mind that if you drop on the Griffin’s Nest from above, you’ll need to go through the Misty Marshes to leave the zone. Either way, it can be a pretty harrowing endeavor for your party.

Fighting The Griffin
Fortunately, you’re fighting the Griffin in a fairly small area, which actually hinders its mobility. The biggest concern is its considerable health. If you can pin it to the ground, your best option is to prioritize attacking its head, which is its weakest point. In the video above, you’ll see just how much devastating damage you can do by focusing your attacks in this way.
