Previously called Pizza Pizza Pizza, Taco Bell’s Mexican pizza first appeared on the menu in 1985. It consists of two crunchy flour crusts, layered with beans, pizza sauce, marinated beef, tomatoes, and a mixture of three types of melted cheese. The popular ingredient can also be made without vegan beef.
But in 2020, Taco Bell removed the item claiming that pizza packaging was not environmentally friendly and represented more than 7 million pounds of cardboard annually in the U.S.
