Power Rangers Dino Fury wins the 2022 GLAAD Media Award

Congratulations to Power Rangers Dino Fury, the show won a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Children and Families Programming. The GLAAD Media Awards honor and honor the media for their fair, accurate, and inclusive representation of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community, and Dino Fury presented the franchise’s first mega event, introducing the first LGBTQ + Ranger Izzy (played by Tessa Rao) across seasons 28th Show. Congratulations to Dino Fury, Rao, and the show’s crew and crew for the amazing award.

Dino Fury was nominated along with some other great shows, including Amphibia (Disney Channel), Centaurworld (Netflix), “Claudia’s Sad Goodbye” The Baby-Sitters Club (Netflix), Diaries of a Future President (Disney+), Doogie Kamealoha, MD (Disney+), High School Musical: The Musical: The Series (Disney+), The Loud House (Nickelodeon), “Manlee Men” Danger Force (Nickelodeon), and The Owl House (Disney Channel).

During a previous interview with Rao, we talked about how she feels about playing the franchise’s first LGBTQ+ Ranger, and she couldn’t be more exciting to be a part of this major moment in the franchise.

“It means a lot,” said Rao. “It’s definitely this acting. It’s this story that made me, and still makes me want to do this job.” “It’s one of the most powerful things we can do as artists is to tell the stories of people who are not told at all or right or enough, and there are a lot of stories like that, not just these. So I guess for me that has to be mine. My first big role has such an important part like that… I don’t think it’s the only part of Izzy that’s important, I think it’s just a part of who she is, but I can also totally respect and appreciate how important this moment is, and I’m really proud. I feel so proud to be part of it.”

The first season of Power Rangers Dino Fury and the first half of season 2 are available on Netflix now, with the remainder of season two expected to hit the service later this year.
