Jensen Ackles teases the return of fan-favorite characters in Super Prequel

The series will see Jensen Ackles return as Dean Winchester, to be the series’ narrator, but it turns out he won’t be the only familiar face and character the show brings to fans.

“The great thing about this world is that there is nothing on the table,” said Ackles. “We have ways to bring back fan-favorite characters and the actors who played them. We also have ways to bring back smaller versions of those characters.”

Ackles also explained that the series will address the previously established law of John and Mary and will be explored in a way unique to the series.

“That’s kind of the exciting thing, in my opinion, is that waypoints or support posts erected on the mother ship, as we lovingly call them, will be touched upon,” Ackles added. “But we’re going to get to those waypoints in a way we probably didn’t expect. And what we really enjoy is, like, the story comes together. It’s not the washed-out version. It’s not the sugar-polished version of how mom and dad met. It’s like what really happened.”

“But we play in the moments that are discussed and talked about,” Ackles continues, “maybe in a slightly varied way that sounds like, ‘Stop, wait, we knew it happened, but I didn’t know why it happened or so it happened. “
