The former WWE Champion made his surprise AEW debut against a New Japan Pro Wrestling actor at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door Pay-per-view! This was one of the most exciting pay-per-view events of the year for fans of both All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling as the two companies’ top stars collide in some unprecedented matches. Although Brian Danielson was originally scheduled for the event, he revealed that he would unfortunately miss it, but chose a surprising opponent for Zack Saber Jr.
After early reports that appeared to have identified this surprise opponent, it has already been confirmed that former WWE Champion Cesaro (now working with AEW under the name Claudio Castagnoli) has made his official debut against Zack Saber Jr. Opening up all kinds of questions about his potential future with the company as fans have been asking for his access for some time, but for now it leads to a great match on a stacked card.

With Cesaro’s career with WWE winding down earlier this year, former AEW President Tony Khan has praised Cesaro in the past, saying, “He’s a true gentleman, Claudio. I have a lot of respect for him as a professional wrestler, I think he’s an amazing athlete. He’s an exceptional athlete, Let’s be honest, his strength is great, he has very few peers in the energy department. Also mentally, he puts great matches together, he has a great psyche and he’s just a great guy.”
